Bowling and Curling!

The 2 club coaches and 4 other members responded to a recent unusual request to use their bowling skills to assist the ‘younger millennial generation’ play curling in an urban park on a rooftop in Stratford.

There was no ice but the ‘stones’ had ball bearings in their base so ran well on the smooth rinks. As with bowls it is primarily about finding the correct line and length to finish nearest to the target, but with rather more moving of opponent’s stones than with bowls.

It was a really fun filled evening, despite the inclement weather, and included excellent food and drinks in the cosy alpine style lodge. We can recommend it for a ‘different’ evening out – check out the link (sfgclub.com).
